About Tulip Cottage

A family home on Chandanwari Road that grew into one of Pahalgam's warmest cottage stays.

Our Story

Built by a Pahalgam family, run with Pahalgam heart

Tulip Cottage began as our family home in the Lidder Valley. When friends of friends kept asking to stay, we did what any Kashmiri household would do — we put on the samovar and made room. Over the years the cottage grew: pinewood rooms, a lawn facing the deodar slopes, and a dining hall where every window frames a mountain.

Today we host families, couples and trekkers from across India and the world, but the promise hasn't changed: clean rooms, honest prices, food cooked like it's for our own table, and help with everything from pony rides to Amarnath Yatra logistics.

Food & Living

A table with a view, food with a story

Meals at Tulip Cottage are home-cooked and generous: fresh rotis and rice, seasonal vegetables from the valley, rogan josh or yakhni for those who want the full Kashmiri experience, and endless kahwa. Vegetarian and Jain kitchens are handled with care — just tell us when you book.

Evenings are for the lawn: bonfires on request, carrom with the kids, or simply watching the light leave the peaks.
